Sustane Technologies Inc. is a clean technology company focused on waste transformation. Sustane has developed and is commercializing a set of disruptive processes to transform municipal solid waste (MSW) and landfill destined plastic streams into high value fuels, chemical feedstocks and recyclable materials. Sustane's core concept is the complete separation of MSW, and their technology breakthrough delivers pure products that were not previously possible.

Sustane’s first North American facility began construction in the Spring of 2018. This facility will have a capacity of 70,000 tonnes per year of MSW. We are seeking Power Engineers to join our growing team.

Responsibilities of the Power Engineers include but are not limited to: Overseeing plant operations. You will be required to demonstrate acceptable color vision for the operation of control monitoring equipment. Monitoring and troubleshooting operating equipment.

Use forklift or other mobile equipment to support the operation. Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances at all times. Other duties may be assigned by the Chief Power Engineer.

As a Power Engineer, you will take the front-line responsibility for continuous (shift) operation of the facility.

This may require flexibility in shift schedule. While the process is highly automated and the role is a mix of control room and field operations, monitoring is also a key requirement.

You will perform daily checks to ensure equipment is running properly by monitoring and troubleshooting the equipment that will include air heaters, process reactors, cleaning systems, conveyors, dryers, pelletizers, pumps, and other processing equipment. You will issue work and test permits to electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel and assist them with locating technical issues. You will be knowledgeable in operating automated/computerized control systems in the plant.

You will work with the engineering team to improve performance and look for ways to continuously improve the processes. Sustane will offer a starting wage of $26.52 per hour with the chance of progression to $32.00 per hour or more. As the ideal candidate, you will have a 3rd or 4th class power engineering/stationary trade certification.

A proven record of performance in a process operating role may be considered as an asset.
