Position Overview

SolutionFirst Therapy is seeking Master’s or PhD-level counselling or psychotherapy students for our January and May practicum cohort. This position offers the chance to gain supervised clinical experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families in a supportive, collaborative, and growth-oriented environment.

Our practicum program is designed to help students develop strong clinical skills, professional confidence, and ethical practice standards while fulfilling their graduate program requirements.

Please note: This practicum is best suited for students who are passionate about helping clients overcome their struggles. We do this primarily by applying evidence-based strategies, and through strong therapeutic relationships. We’re looking for students who are eager to go beyond "just talking” and are excited to provide clients with effective therapeutic strategies for lasting change. And yes, we will train you on how to do exactly that!

Your Qualifications The ideal practicum student is a motivated and compassionate emerging therapist who is eager to develop their skills while practicing a solution-focused approach to therapy.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

- Currently enrolled in a Master’s-level counselling or psychotherapy program accredited by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or an equivalent program
- Preference given to: Adler Graduate Professional School, University of Toronto, Tyndale University, University of Ottawa, Western University, CityU, Yorkville University
- Completed the coursework required by your program to begin a practicum placement
- Met all academic and program requirements necessary to provide psychotherapy to clients




- Able to provide therapy sessions virtually
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passionate about mental health, psychotherapy, and supporting client growth
