As soon as possible Wage: $24-$28/hour (depending on certification and experience) + ECE Wage Top Up We offer a supportive, creative, and community-focused environment - perfect for someone who loves to laugh, learn, and make a difference! Our emergent, child-led early learning curriculum fosters both personal growth and a strong sense of community for the children in our care. Learning unfolds in group settings for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children (3-5 years).
If you're passionate about early learning and looking for a meaningful role in a unique island setting, we'd love to hear from you! Basic ECE ECE (Early Childhood Educator): Must hold a valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate issued by the BC ECE Registry. Demonstrated experience supporting, guiding, and caring for children in a licensed childcare setting.
A commitment to delivering high-quality programming aligned with BC's Early Learning Framework. An understanding of and respect for individual and cultural diversity, including a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
Experience working in small communities and/or with non-profit organizations (an asset). Sufficient stamina and energy to meet the physical demands of childcare (e.g., standing, sitting on the floor, assisting with toileting and dressing, supervising outdoor play and out-trips, leading physical activities). Proficient communication skills in English.
Valid First
Aid and CPR certification and a Clear Criminal Record Check (required prior to employment). Willingness to contribute to a clean and secure learning environment through light housekeeping duties.
Wage: $24-$28/hour, depending on certification and experience + ECE Wage Top Up.
Pender
Island is a beautiful, small rural community located in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia. The community offers essential services, including a medical clinic, doctors, nurses, emergency services, a chiropractor, dentist, and massage therapist. As a ferry-dependent community, travel can be weather-dependent and requires planning.
There is NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION on Pender Island, a car and valid dirvers license is required for this position. Housing assistance may be available for the right candidate.
