POSITION TITLE: Primary Care Paramedic

LOCATION: Belledune, NB

STATUS: Full time temporary

HOURS OF WORK: Rotating days and nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Subject to change due to operational requirements.

ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as possible

ANTICIPATED END DATE: February 2027

SALARY RANGE: As per collective agreement

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: Written and spoken competence in English or French is required.

Duties Of Position

Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Primary Care Paramedics are based on the current National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) for Primary Care Paramedics, Paramedic Association of New Brunswick registration requirements, as well as Ambulance NB policies, procedures and protocols. The paramedic provides medical support to patients on scene and en route to hospitals, utilizing emergency techniques and various medical treatments to manage unpredictable clinical presentations in the field. They are the first on scene in times of crisis and remain until the job is completed.

Required Qualifications

- Entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit)
- Ability to work efficiently as a member of a team and have a good attendance record; able to work all shifts as assigned
- High regard for confidentiality and patient safety
- Completion of a Primary Care Paramedic program/course of over six months (or equivalent training)




- Registered and active Paramedic with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Valid New Brunswick Class 4 Driver's License (or equivalent)

Additional Requirements For Your Application

- Resume and Cover Letter
- Copy of PCP diploma from an accredited institution
- Proof of current registration with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to paramedic work within the last 12 months
- Proof of CPR level C certification issued within the last 12 months
- Photocopy of front and back of valid Class 4 driver’s license (or equivalent) with minimum one year driving experience
- Driver’s abstract issued within the last 30 days
- Copy of any valid Driver’s course certificate (e.g., CEVO, VFIS, NS VSP) issued within the last three years
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last 30 days
- Immunization Record including Tdap, two MMR vaccines, two Varicella vaccines, three Hepatitis B doses, TB skin test (2‑step), and a 1‑step test in the last 12 months; Employee Health and Wellness Consultant may schedule a meeting if needed
- Valid Official Language Assessments (oral assessment only) in both French and English from the Department of Post‑secondary Education, Training and Labour
- Additional training and/or education highly valued
