About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Product Development Scientist specializing in Food science to join their remote team. This role is critical for the creation and refinement of new FMCG food products, from concept generation through to commercialization. You will leverage your scientific expertise to develop formulations, conduct sensory evaluations, ensure product stability, and support scale-up processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of food chemistry, processing, and regulatory requirements, combined with a passion for creating exciting and high-quality food products for the consumer market. Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development of new food product formulations, ensuring alignment with market trends, consumer needs, and business objectives.
- Conduct laboratory-scale product development, including ingredient sourcing, testing, and optimization of product characteristics (taste, texture, appearance).
- Plan and execute sensory evaluation studies and shelf-life testing to ensure product quality and consumer acceptance.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, R&D;, and manufacturing, to ensure smooth product scale-up and successful commercial launch.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations and quality standards.

Requirements

- Master's or Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food product development within the FMCG industry.
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, food processing techniques, and food safety regulations.
- Experience with sensory analysis and statistical analysis of data.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to product innovation.
