About The Team You Are Joining
IATA’s Operational Compliance Solutions (OCS) and regulations in Cargo and Safety, are the primary source of information for air transport standards, helping to inform and deliver safety, flight & technical operations and dangerous goods transportation standards, best practices and guidance material, whilst seeking to improve operational performance and reduce risks.
The Product Manager Safety & Dangerous Goods Operations will report to the Assistant Director – DGR Solutions. The successful applicant will be part of a strategic product portfolio that is fundamental to the Safety, Flight/Technical and Cargo Compliance operations in aviation covering delivery of commercially licensed content and digital solutions in Safety and Audit programs, Flight Crew Training, Maintenance,
Fuel Efficiency and Dangerous Goods operations.
The Product Manager, Safety & Dangerous Goods Operations is responsible for driving revenue growth, optimizing costs, managing existing products, and leading the development of new digital solution. A key focus will be accelerating adoption of IATA’s digital software platform among large enterprise customers, supporting industry-wide digital transformation, and delivering data-driven insights through business intelligence and competitive analysis. The position will also help shape customer engagement strategies and identify opportunities to enhance and expand the product portfolio.
What Your Day Would Be Like
- Portfolio product management including Lifecycle Management, new product development and ideation, launch and end of life activities, pricing, budgeting, forecasting and administration of the portfolio.
- Applying your subject matter knowledge and experience, develop and execute strategic business plans and develop current products for the Safety and Dangerous Goods portfolio.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and goals.
- Manage and achieve/exceed the Revenue and Profit targets of the portfolio.
- Define and execute the overall marketing and sales strategies in collaboration with the Sales and - Marketing groups to drive portfolio growth and new customer acquisition.
- Project Manage the commercial renewals and assigned Product enhancement feature development to a timely delivery,
ensuring revenue bookings are kept in line with forecast.
- Work with cross-divisional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure delivery of planned content, as well as development of potential new products and associated commercial marketing collateral (webinars, white papers).
- Manage competitive and market intelligence studies as required to support objectives.
- Customers/prospects engagement – analyze prospects, creating a list of key accounts with products from the entire portfolio using data, to create synergies and identify revenue and new product opportunities across the portfolio.
We would love to hear from you if
- Passionate about the aviation industry with a keen airline operational knowledge and a strong interest in digital transformation.
- Ideally have direct aviation industry experience and a proven track record in civil aviation operational roles
- Knowledge of safety, audit, flight and technical operations of airlines and new technology related matters considered ideal.
- Ability to speak to operational and technical aviation concepts and technologies
- Strong commercial marketing or direct sales experience within the operational aviation environment
- Project and product management knowledge essential
- Familiar with data visualization and analysis tools. Proficient in using MS excel and PowerPoint.Knowledge of Salesforce, SAP and basic API considered a plus.
- Capable of presenting data in a visual manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-orientated.
- Team player and can work under pressure.
- Being open and also willing to collaborate and learn from others
- Availability for travel
