Picture this: dozens of moving projects, hundreds of hard-won lessons learned on-site, and a wealth of operational knowledge living in people's heads instead of on paper. We're looking for a sharp, curious Construction Project Coordinator ; ideally a recent graduate, EIT, or someone with hands-on construction exposure; to help translate real-world construction processes into explicit, standardized operational manuals. This isn't a back-office writing role.
You'll work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field staff to capture how work gets done and turn that knowledge into something lasting. The role will initially be site-based while the Operations Manual is being developed, providing valuable field experience. As the manual evolves, the position will transition into a blend of field and office-based responsibilities, supporting ongoing operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Develop, write,
and organize detailed operational manuals for construction projects Standardize processes across multiple projects and teams Work directly with project managers, superintendents, and field staff to get it right Assist with project documentation, tracking, and administrative coordination Help roll out standardized processes across project teams Keep manuals current as projects and the organization evolve Partner closely with operations and project teams to keep documentation grounded in reality Support training and onboarding with documentation people actually want to read You're the person who color-codes the group project, or the one who always volunteers to write up the meeting notes — because you'regoodat it. A recent graduate or early-career professional with a degree/diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field Construction environment experience (co-op, internship, or full-time) is a strong asset Excellent writing, editing, and documentation skills Comfortable communicating with both office teams and field crews Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, SharePoint); construction software experience is a bonus Get a real handle on Carlson's operations, projects,
