Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

The South
Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030. The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction. What is the project? A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station. Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations. Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).
Improve the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time. Up to 57,000 more jobs accessible by transit (in 45 minutes or less) for Toronto residents. Economic and community growth along the future transit line and thousands of job opportunities annually during construction.
The Project
Coordinator supports the successful execution of large‑scale construction projects by coordinating all activities related to the procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation of approximately 4,000 tons of structural steel. This role provides detailed project analysis, maintains documentation, and ensures timely communication with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams. The coordinator oversees the shop drawing approval process, tracks material availability, conducts fabrication‑facility visits, and verifies both progress and quality against project schedules and Inspection & Test Plans.
The schedule for this role will include occasional nights and weekends. The salary range for this position is $80,000 CAD - $100,000 CAD, plus additional benefits. Provide management with accurate project data, performance metrics, and analytical reports.
Review contract documents, construction drawings, and specifications; prepare procurement lists and manage RFIs, Change Orders, permitting requirements, and traffic/land-use documentation as needed. Monitor and report on productivity, cost performance, and progress for the Ontario Line South project. Liaise with stakeholders, vendors, and owners to communicate project status and schedule updates.
Prepare, review, and present job-cost reports to management. Contribute data and insights for month-end financial reconciliation. Maintain organized project files, documentation, and correspondence. Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal departments.
Perform various administrative functions in support of project objectives. Ensure raw materials are procured and delivered in alignment with project schedules and sequencing requirements. Conduct regular factory and fabrication‑facility visits; document findings through detailed inspection and progress reports.
Review supplier progress reports and verify accuracy against project milestones.
Verify quality compliance throughout all fabrication phases and participate in all stages of the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) process. Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural/Construction Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Background in construction, engineering, or transportation‑related projects. Solid ability to read, interpret, and work with construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and project management software such as MS Project.
Highly self‑motivated with strong organizational and time‑management abilities. Capable of working accurately under pressure and managing multiple priorities. Flexible and able to adjust work hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
