We are looking for a competent professional to join our team as Project Finance Analyst. Relevant project finance or accounting experience is ideal, however for the right candidate we are flexible to adapt the scope of responsibilities and qualifications.
The Project Finance
Analyst reports to the Controller and is responsible for supporting the accounting, budgeting & forecasting, and financial reporting requirements for the company projects. Additionally, the Project Finance Analyst may assist in managing the accounting staff, which would include coaching & mentoring, performance management and the provision of adequate training and development to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the department and company. Work with Controller to prepare monthly financial reports, analyse results and maintain financial dashboards.
Assist to ensure accurate and relevant reporting, including job cost reporting, capital expenditure reporting, revenue projections, cash flow, departmental reporting and analysis of financial results. Manage journal entries and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing, identifying and resolving inaccuracies or imbalances. Lead project forecast and financial reviews, using data and skilled skepticism to validate forecasts and operational accuracy.
Follow and maintain accounting policies and procedures and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions. manage external audits such as CRA, PST, GST. Perform additional responsibilities per management’s direction. Bachelor’s degree or relevant education and CPA designation or similar designation.
A combination of education and work experience will be considered. Previous experience in the construction sector - private company experience would be an asset. Proficiency in Dynamics 365 Business Central, PowerBI, Procore, HCSS Suite of Software, Microsoft Office.
Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial statements in logical plain language. Strong cost accounting, budgeting, financial reporting skills. Strong problem solver who applies skilled analysis and considers all variables.
