The Role

We are hiring a seasoned project manager — senior in scope, if not in title — to help drive a multi-year business transformation program: the modernization of core systems from a legacy mainframe environment to a modern platform, together with an end-to-end redesign of the business processes built around it. You will run a substantial track of projects within the program in close partnership with the program manager, and own a portfolio of other technology and business projects alongside it. This is a permanent role with a mandate that outlasts the program — when the transformation wraps, you move onto the next generation of high-end projects.

What You'll Do

- Lead major workstreams within the transformation program (~80% of your time), from planning through phased implementation, parallel-run, and cutover — managing transition risk so the business never stops operating.
- Partner with dedicated business systems analysts and process owners as core business processes — from customer acquisition through the full account lifecycle — are mapped, redesigned, and rebuilt around the new platform.
- Manage a portfolio of other projects (~20%): internal process improvements, new product introductions, and business-critical process changes with external partners.
- Own those project budgets end to end — estimation,



approval, tracking, and reporting — typically ranging from $100K to $3–4M; support financial tracking and reporting at the program level.
- Lead cross-functional project teams without direct reports — influence without authority is the operating model here.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications; report clearly and candidly to senior leadership.
- Help shape project delivery practices in a growing, maturing PMO — bring what works from mature shops and leave the bureaucracy at the door.

What You Bring

- 7+ years of project management experience delivering large, complex technology-enabled projects, ideally including a program-scale initiative.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale migration or modernization initiatives — mainframe-to-contemporary, on-prem-to-cloud, or major data/system migrations — including parallel-run and cutover phases.
- A business-first mindset: you dive deep into how a business actually operates before reaching for the technology. Experience in financial services, lending, or leasing is an asset, not a requirement.
- Full ownership of multi-million-dollar project budgets.
- Proven ability to influence without authority and manage stakeholders from working teams to executives.
- Technical fluency across modern stacks (cloud, integration, software delivery) is a bonus; PMP or equivalent is an asset.
- A clear, confident communicator, in writing and in the room.
