PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (EN) Montreal Area (On-Site) you have at least two years of purchasing or procurement experience . You have experience with inventory management and replenishment . You are fluently bilingual in French and English .

This is a full-time position. Our client is a well-established Canadian multi-unit retailer with a Head Office, Distribution Centre and network of retail locations. PeopleFind Inc. is recruiting a Procurement Specialist to coordinate the purchasing of supplies for the company’s retail stores, Head Office and Distribution Centre.

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, Construction and Maintenance, you will negotiate with suppliers, identify sourcing opportunities, monitor inventory levels and help ensure that products and supplies are available when required. This is a hands‑on procurement position requiring strong organizational, inventory-management and supplier‑negotiation capabilities. You will also support special projects, improve purchasing processes and provide guidance to other members of the Procurement Department.

Purchasing and Supplier Negotiations Negotiate product pricing, fees, purchasing terms and service arrangements with current and prospective suppliers. Proactively identify and evaluate alternative suppliers for existing purchases. Source new suppliers for high-volume purchasing requirements.

Identify potential suppliers in China and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of direct international sourcing compared with domestic purchasing. Verify that supplier invoices correspond with purchase orders before forwarding them to the Accounting Department.

Inventory

Management and Replenishment Analyze product consumption and coordinate replenishment to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Ensure sufficient stock is available to prevent interruptions to store, Head Office and Distribution Centre operations. Evaluate purchasing and logistics timelines for high-volume products, including initial orders and replenishment orders.

Assess the warehouse space required for supplies and incoming inventory.



Coordinate and maintain the monthly inventory-counting process with the Supply Warehouse Team. Negotiate arrangements with suppliers concerning the storage of inventory until orders are ready to be shipped.

Analyze inventory activity and identify strategic opportunities for future purchases. Develop, maintain and update inventory and pricing databases. Support the Procurement Team in responding to routine supply requests from retail locations.

Ensure special requests from stores and Head Office are addressed effectively and within established timeframes. Review supply-ordering processes for the stores and Head Office and recommend improvements. Identify and address product-quality concerns, ineffective products and other recurring supply issues.

Help ensure a high level of service for employees at the stores, Head Office and Distribution Centre. Prepare monthly reports for the Director outlining negotiated purchases, supplier quotations, commercial terms and the company’s current inventory position. Serve as a procurement resource for the team, providing guidance and support when needed.

Participate in the ongoing improvement of departmental processes, procedures and controls. Support special purchasing and procurement projects as assigned. Follow all company policies and procedures, including those concerning loss prevention, health and safety, and human resources.

At least two years of purchasing or procurement experience .

Experience managing inventory, replenishment or supplies.

Experience using inventory-management tools or systems.

Experience working in a similar multi-location, retail, distribution or corporate purchasing environment is considered a strong asset. Exposure to international sourcing, including sourcing from China, is considered an asset. Sound inventory-management and analytical capabilities.

Strong Microsoft

Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Language

Requirements ~ Fluency in French and English is required. This is a full-time, in office position. Occasional travel to retail locations, representing approximately 10 percent of working time, will be required.
