Position Title: Producer, Newfoundland Morning (English Services) (On Site) Permanent Language Requirement: Language Skills: Work at CBC/Radio-Canada At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. You are someone who is always ready to explore new ways of creating content that is distinct, intelligent and innovative. This producer will be responsible for leading the Newfoundland Morning team and producing a daily 3 hour radio show. As an experienced Producer you will participate in developing, producing and presenting editorial content, creative storytelling and finding great guests for the show.

You will have a keen understanding of storytelling with audio and the evolving expectations of the audience. Reporting to the Senior Producer of Programming, you have sharp editorial skills with clear news instincts and an appetite for daily journalism. You have an understanding of storytelling for multiple formats and can help the team deliver a compelling, informative show that reflects the people of Newfoundland.

You know how to engage new, more diverse and younger audiences familiar with digital and social media conventions and storytelling. You are connected to or have an understanding of indigenous communities and their way of life. The show informs, entertains and serves the people of central,



western and the northern peninsula areas of the island.

Your job is to grow the audience by reaching underrepresented communities. You will have the opportunity to take CBC training and learn from some of the best in the business. CBC offers access to training, mentorship and career development over time to employees along with a structured onboarding process.

Research, write and produce original story ideas for current affairs, text, social with potential for video platforms that will engage and inform the audience, deepen our community connections and elevate a range of voices. Occasionally present stories on‑air, providing analysis and context to enhance the audience’s understanding of issues. Respond quickly to breaking news events as they unfold.

Deliver exclusive and enterprise material on a regular basis. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and break stories, plan features and coordinate long‑term coverage. Deal with certain facility issues. (contact contractors when issues arise) Minimum three years recent experience in a daily news environment Strong audio editing and storytelling experience Strong reporting, presentation and broadcast writing skills.

Ability to adapt to ongoing technical demands such as desktop editing, assisting with daily lineup,



social media posts and knowledge of field gathering tools and applications. Strong understanding of demonstrative live storytelling techniques. Strong presentation and reporting skills, with the ability to go live from remotes.

Ability to incorporate breaking news into a live broadcast. Ability to balance the big picture creative thinking with the "daily grind" of producing a daily current affairs (radio) program. High‑level knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to journalism.

Deep knowledge of and connection to the equity‑seeking communities across mainland Newfoundland and Labrador.

Experience and proven ability to tell news stories in compelling and innovative ways. Ability to work a variety of shifts including early starts, late finishes and weekends. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
