Taylor View Towers is a vibrant seniors’ living community innorth-central Red Deer, serving over 300 residents through a person-directedcare model rooted in the Eden Alternative philosophy. Our mission is to provide an enriching resident living experience inCentral Alberta, by delivering compassionate care, fostering meaningfulconnections, and creating an environment where residents thrive in a vibrant,purposeful living, supported by a dedicated and passionate team. Providesand evaluates the delivery of recreational services based on the Resident CarePlan and Service Plan Supportsthe Resident’s lifestyle in their Community environment in accordance with theResident’s individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare.
Reportsnecessary changes regarding the Resident Care/Service Plan as per request ofthe Resident as it relates to recreational services. Supportsthe residents in identifying personal leisure barriers and consults withRecreation Therapist in designing intervention Assistswith daily life within the Community, as needed, in a variety of ways beyondrecreation-specific practices, such as serving meals, doing light housekeeping, removing trash, assisting Residents,
and leading Learning Circles. Maintainsprofessional boundaries & confidentiality to protect vulnerable residents.
Administrative: Monitorsand reports inventory of recreational supplies Addressunscheduled Housing/Service Plan needs as required based on Well-Being Strategies Reports to: Recreation Therapist Supervisor Residents, Family Members,Employee Care Partners EducatesCare Partners (residents, families, employees) on the advantages of recreational services and assists them in practicing these skills Performsa variety of other projects and assignments as required A diploma in recreation with a specialization in therapeutic recreation or aDegree in Recreation Therapy, Leisure Studies, or Recreation Administration isrequired Experience in recreation programs and providingrecreation therapist services.
