ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you an organized, people-focused HR professional who enjoys keeping things moving?
The City of Brandon is looking for two Recruitment Assistants to join our Human Resources team. This is an opportunity to build your HR experience while supporting recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee inquiries, HR administration, and recruitment initiatives across the organization.
Reporting to an HR Officer, the Recruitment Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the HR Generalist section and Human Resources department.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will play an important role in supporting the City's recruitment and staffing processes, including:
- Coordinating internal and external recruitment competitions from posting through selection
- Creating job postings and maintaining recruitment files and documentation
- Coordinating interviews, meetings, testing, and meeting spaces
- Supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
- Preparing interview guides, testing materials, selection documents, and correspondence
- Responding to candidate and employee inquiries and providing information about employment opportunities, applications, training, and HR processes
- Supporting new employee onboarding, including payroll and benefits paperwork
- Preparing and delivering employee orientation presentations
- Supporting recalls, transfers, re-hires, and other staffing processes
- Maintaining HR records, statistics, reports,
and recruitment data
- Supporting HR policies, procedures, guidelines, reports, and special projects
- Representing the City at job fairs, career events, and recruitment initiatives
- Working collaboratively with HR team members, hiring managers, employees, candidates, and external partners
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Mandatory qualifications
- Grade 12, G.E.D., C.A.E.C., or Mature High School Diploma
- Completion of a post-secondary Human Resources Management program
- Minimum of two years of office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position An asset:
- Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle

POSITION DETAILS
We are hiring for
- 1 Permanent, full-time position
- 1 Term,
full-time position, up to 16 months (If the incumbent does not return to the term position, the position may become permanent. The City of Brandon reserves the right to underfill this position.)
Salary: $66,963.26 annually (2026 rate)
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
