The RPN is responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and families through application of specialized knowledge, skill and judgement, both in assessing needs and in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.

Registered Practical

Nurse, currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. RPN certificate or education and experience that allows practice at full scope. Proven assessment, planning,



implementation and evaluation skills related to acute medical nursing with ability to work independently and use critical thinking.

Basic computer skills (Outlook email, Cerner, Electronic Patient Record). Capability to administer medication inclusive of IV medication under a physician’s order. Excellent attendance record in alignment with STEGH’s attendance policy.

Acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s mission, vision, values and code of conduct. One year of Continuing Care experience within the last three years.

Certificates in: Palliative Care Fundamentals (Level 1), Gentle Persuasive Approaches, Crisis Intervention. The position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required.
