Provide exceptional patient care which is underpinned by the best evidence based practice and OUH values. Manage, direct and evaluate the nursing care for a defined caseload of patients. Maintain and develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting the qualified nursing practice and patient care commensurate with the OUH values.
Maintain and develop general and specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to the clinical area. Develop skills to provide senior nurse cover for the department in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse or their deputy. Work proactively to ensure every hospital visit meets the needs of the patient and that patients are discharged in a timely manner ensuring effective communication with the family and/or relevant agencies as planned and agreed.
