Registered Respiratory

Therapist, Critical Care/Respirology Unit You have clinical expertise, competence, and technical skills as related to the position. You are also flexible to changing priorities and committed to continuous learning and career development. You have great interpersonal skills, and you effortlessly connect with physicians, staff, patients, and families.

You will take a leadership in advocating and providing exceptional health care to patients and families. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.



This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients and families.

Participate collaboratively within interprofessional healthcare teams with adult, pediatric and newborn patients in the Critical Care Unit Perform as a member of Code Teams and Critical Care Response Team Assist at high risk deliveries performing neonatal resuscitation Administer pharmaceutical substances in respiratory care Perform related diagnostic tests including procurement and interpretation of arterial blood gases, assisting with bronchoscopies Educate patients, families, caregivers and health care professionals in respiratory care Diploma/Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario Experience in adult intubation and adult radial arterial line insertion Working at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canada’s leading hospitals. This is a Full Time Regular position with 12 hour shifts, Day and Night shifts including weekends in the Critical Care / Respirology Unit.
