Reporting directly to the Manager, Agency Services, the Account Manager is responsible for the coordination and successful delivery of marketing initiatives for assigned client accounts.
Acting as the primary liaison between the agency and its assigned clients, this role ensures all projects are executed efficiently, on brand, on budget, and aligned with each client’s strategic goals.
The Account
Manager plays a pivotal role in nurturing strong client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and translating marketing strategies into actionable plans including Media Production, Graphic Design, Web Development, and Digital Marketing. The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision, and values of WBMG, while ensuring compliance with established Policies and Procedures. This permanent full-time salaried position is based on forty (40) hours weekly.
Additional hours may be required. Responsible for managing and growing assigned client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for all communications and strategic discussions. Develop and maintain comprehensive account plans that align marketing strategies with client business objectives.
Coordinate and oversee the execution of marketing projects ensuring alignment on deliverables, deadlines, budgets,
and quality standards. Facilitate regular client strategy meetings and performance reviews to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for optimization. Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets, proactively identifying risks, scope changes, or resource gaps and elevate as required.
Oversee and execute client social media strategies, including content planning, campaign coordination, community engagement oversight, and performance analysis. Manage basic digital advertising initiatives, including boosted posts, targeted campaigns, and budget allocation using platforms such as Meta Business Suite and other relevant advertising tools. Monitor, analyze, and report on digital marketing performance metrics (e.g., Collaborate closely with Media Production, Graphic Design, and Web teams to ensure deliverables meet brand standards and strategic objectives.
Ensure all client-facing materials reflect agency quality standards, brand alignment, and cultural sensitivity. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation using agency project management systems. Provide regular updates to leadership regarding account performance, project status, and client feedback.
Stay current with emerging marketing trends, digital platforms,
and industry best practices to ensure innovative and competitive solutions; Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field is required. A degree is considered a strong asset. Two (2) years of experience in account management, marketing coordination, or a related role, preferably within an agency or multi-client setting is required.
A combination of relevant post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
Valid
Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and a clean drivers abstract are required.
Criminal Record
Check is required. Demonstrated experience managing multiple client accounts and marketing projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including social media strategy, content marketing, and basic paid advertising. Proven proficiency with social media management platforms, Meta Business Suite, project management software (e.g., ClickUp), and standard office productivity tools. Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Experience interpreting analytics and performance metrics to guide strategic decisions. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet tight deadlines. Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, Métis culture and the history of the McMurray Métis community, ensuring culturally respectful and aligned marketing initiatives.
Ability to work evenings and weekends when required to support client campaigns, events, or deadlines. Ability to travel within and outside the Wood Buffalo region when required.
