About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Remote Data Analyst to join their forward-thinking team and drive insights from their extensive mining operations data. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to critical decision-making processes. You will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets related to production, efficiency, safety, and costs across various mine sites. The ideal candidate possesses robust analytical and statistical skills, expertise in data visualization tools, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, all within a remote work context.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and transform data from various sources, including operational databases, sensors, and reports.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in mining operational data.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to track key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with operations managers, engineers, and geologists to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Build predictive models to forecast production, identify potential risks, or optimize resource allocation.
- Document data sources, methodologies, and findings clearly for reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the mining or a related industrial sector.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and programming languages like Python or R.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and remote collaboration skills.
