Ocean Import Customer Service Representative

Working out of Traffic Tech's Canadian headquarters in the West-Island of Montreal, you will coordinate the movement of freight across the globe and support our growing international team.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for handling all ocean import operations.
- Coordinate arrangements for shipment delivery and verify OBL and payment requirements prior to release.
- Organize required documentation for import ocean air and export operations.
- Maintain and respond promptly to all incoming domestic and international communications.
- Confirm bookings and obtain necessary approvals before relaying information internationally.
- Book cargo with transportation companies/agents.
- Guarantee and bill storage/demurrage for approved accounts.
- Track and trace shipments daily and create customer‑specific reports.
- Resolve customer, internal and operational problems and implement preventative measures.
- Continuously improve internal systems and procedures.

Qualifications

- College diploma or university degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
- CITT/CIFFA credentials are an asset.
- Previous freight forwarding experience.
- Minimum 3 years of international freight forwarding experience.
- Working knowledge of international freight forwarding documentation.
- Current knowledge of international ocean/air import/export rules and regulations, market and geography.
- Experience with transportation management software.




- Experience with customs is an asset (not required).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Cargo Wise operating system.
- Basic Excel skills for customer data entry.
- Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely customer service.
- Excellent communication skills, orally and written.
- Highly organized and able to work under pressure.
- Exemplary problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Detail oriented.

Working Conditions

Full‑time permanent position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
