Job Summary

Cybersecurity Awareness and Digital Research Tools project develops practical cybersecurity-awareness resources and digital tools for dairy and poultry stakeholders in Atlantic Canada and across Canada. It converts approved cybersecurity guidance into accessible web-based learning modules. Reporting to the Associate Professor and Research Chair, the Research Assistant provides entry-level technical support for web-based learning modules and related research software.

Under the direction of the principal investigator, the Research Assistant assists with implementation, testing, documentation, and routine data tasks using established specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with building, configuring, and maintaining assigned components of web-based learning modules and research software using established designs.
- Run assigned functional and usability tests, record results, correct routine issues,



and maintain concise code and user documentation.
- Prepare approved project data, run established scripts or workflows, and summarize outputs for supervisor review.
- Attend regular meetings, record assigned action items, provide brief progress updates, and assist with routine scheduling or material preparation.

Note Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

Required Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, plus one to two years’ relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Basic working knowledge of Python, version control, databases, and cloud-based development tools.
- Ability to follow specifications, test and troubleshoot routine functionality, document work, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
