The salary range for this position is CAD $40.19 - $50.20 / hour We are currently hiring for a Regular Full Time Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Unit team at Surrey Memorial Hospital located in Surrey, B.Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) is one of B.s largest and busiest hospitals, offering advanced care in emergency, maternity, pediatrics and mental health, and is the largest of three regional hospitals in Fraser Health’s integrated network of care. Instagram | Facebook | LinkedIn | X Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory therapy: assists with in-service education and provides input into program development.
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic assessments,
interventions and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy such as assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support initiating/maintaining mechanical ventilation support of adults, children and infants, providing airway management, patient evaluation, and daily care of patients as prescribed. Monitors and performs required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation and quality control of respiratory and related equipment: reports supply needs as required; Participates in quality improvement activities such as the development, implementation and evaluation of written procedures and standards, development of assessment forms and patient materials, and program descriptions as required. Participates in Respiratory Therapy student education and various in-services for staff and the community as required.
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT). Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
