The successful candidate, under the direction of the Director/Manager-BC Biocontainment (BC BTC), joins the CORE clinical team of the BC BTC Team and trains for specialty clinical services that support the BC Biocontainment Treatment and Training Center. Please note this casual position is based out of Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory therapy: assists with in-service education and provides input into program development. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions and follow‑ups as related to respiratory therapy such as assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support initiating/maintaining mechanical ventilation support of adults, children and infants, providing airway management, patient evaluation,
and daily care of patients as prescribed. # Monitors and performs required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation and quality control of respiratory and related equipment: reports supply needs as required; Participates in quality improvement activities such as the development, implementation and evaluation of written procedures and standards, development of assessment forms and patient materials, and program descriptions as required. # Participates in Respiratory Therapy student education and various in‑services for staff and the community as required. # Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
