The salary range for this position is CAD $40.19/Hr.
- CAD $50.20/Hr. Come work as a Respiratory Therapist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) at the Respiratory Therapy team! Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice as outlined by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) as well as within a client and family centred care model and the vision and values of the organization. Performs ongoing respiratory care in a multi-disciplinary setting to clients with a variety of illnesses/diseases including, but not limited to acute and/or chronic respiratory illnesses or pathologies of the airway. Enhances quality of life from the perspective of the client/family. Consults, confers and collaborates with other health care Professionals. Demonstrates continuous improvement and best practice approach in respiratory practice. Participates on committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.

Therapy at Lions Gate Hospital Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) is a Level 3 Trauma centre, providing birth to end of life services.

Therapists at LGH provide support to the wards, intensive care unit (ICU), high acuity unit (HAU), emergency department (ED), neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Pediatric services and diagnostic testing, such as pulmonary function and bronchoscopy. The LGH Respiratory Therapy leadership team consists of an Operations Manager, Qualified Practice Lead, RT Educator, and Charge RTs to ensure support as you transition to become part of our talented team. Regular continuing education sessions are provided informally on-shift and formally through paid education days with support of Regional RT Educators.
All LGH RTs are bi-annually certified in NRP and are given additional training to perform adult intubations and arterial line insertions. In collaboration with the care team, you will provide ventilator and tracheostomy management for diverse and complex neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations such as TBI, spinal cord injuries, multi-trauma, and labour and delivery related complications. Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada Credentialing Exam. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and BC Society of Respiratory Therapists. Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care staff, and staff of external agencies.
Demonstrated skill in clinical techniques and the use of applicable equipment and supplies. Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques. Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to effectively use a computerized client care information system.
Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines,
and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
