The Prospect Registered Respiratory
Therapists (RRTs) are highly skilled healthcare professionals who provide quality care to patients—from neonatal to adult—experiencing respiratory or cardiorespiratory‑related illnesses. Respiratory therapists work in all care areas and are heavily relied upon by physicians and allied health professionals to provide advanced, life‑sustaining treatments in a family‑centered approach. Hours of Work Rotating shifts, 11.25 hours, as per self‑scheduling guidelines.
Your Qualifications
Registered or eligible to be registered with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Respiratory Therapy (NSRRT).
Completed the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) program. Graduated from a Respiratory Therapist program.
NRP, PALS, and ACLS certifications required within the last 12 months or currently enrolled. Demonstrated clinical and technical competence in a Neonatal/Pediatric/Adult setting. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Demonstrated competence in communication, interpersonal relations, problem‑solving, computer applications, and innovation. Demonstrated ability to stay current in therapeutic and technological advances in respiratory care.
Competencies in other languages are an asset. This is a Healthcare bargaining unit position. Preference is given to bargaining‑unit employees for unionized positions.
