Role Description The Retail Paint Sales and Service Associate is a full-time, in office role based in Burlington, Ontario, Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role involves greeting customers, understanding their projects and needs, and recommending appropriate Benjamin Moore products, colours, finishes, and prep plans. The associate will provide personal, detailed consultations, mix and tint paint, prepare orders, and ensure accurate record-keeping of customer purchases and colour histories.

Daily tasks include operating the point-of-sale system, maintaining store cleanliness and merchandising, restocking shelves,



and supporting contractors with efficient order handling and product substitutions. The role also includes answering phone and email inquiries, coordinating special orders, and contributing to a welcoming, professional store environment.

Qualifications

- Strong Product Knowledge, with the ability to learn and explain paint, primers, stains, finishes, and application methods.
- Retail Sales experience, including recommending products, handling transactions, and meeting store sales goals.
- Excellent Communication skills, both spoken and written, to clearly guide customers through choices and project plans.
- Proven Customer Service abilities, including active listening, problem-solving, and building long-term customer relationships.
- Sales skills focused on consultative selling, upselling appropriate products, and supporting both DIY customers and professional contractors.
- Comfort working on-site in a retail environment, including standing for extended periods and handling paint cans and supplies safely.
- Attention to detail and basic computer skills for POS use and accurate record-keeping of colors and orders.
- Previous experience in paint, home improvement, or design-related retail is an asset; familiarity with Benjamin Moore products is a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, as required by store operations.
