Currently we are looking for a Sales Manager to be our commercial lead for Canada.
This role owns key retail relationships, channel development initiatives, and commercial growth strategies that expand market share and strengthen brand presence.
Working cross-functionally with marketing, product, operations, and customer service teams, the Sales Manager plays a critical role in expanding market share, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring successful execution across all retail channels.
This role will play a key part in shaping and accelerating the next phase of growth for the Canadian business through strategic retail partnerships, commercial execution excellence, and market expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
National Retail Account Management
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with major national retailers and specialty retail partners.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, leading commercial discussions and business reviews.
- Lead annual account planning, sales forecasting, promotional planning, assortment reviews and Joint Business Planning (JBP) processes with key retail partners
- Identify opportunities to expand distribution, improve product placement, increase retail sell-through and penetrate emerging retail channels and growth segments
- Negotiate terms, pricing, promotions, and merchandising initiatives with retail partners.
Channel Strategy Execution
- Implement channel strategies that support overall business objectives and brand positioning.
- Ensure consistent execution across key retail channels while addressing channel-specific opportunities and challenges.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing to execute retail and trade marketing programs.
Financial Management & Business Planning
- Own annual sales, margin, and profitability targets for assigned accounts and channels.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, promotional investments, and gross margin objectives..
- Analyze sales performance, margins, inventory levels, and return on investment to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Identify and implement corrective actions when performance falls below plan.
Retail Training & Store Development
- Develop and implement retail training programs that enhance product knowledge, selling effectiveness, and brand advocacy.
- Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for retail staff and internal teams.
- Create training materials, product information resources, and sales tools.
- Measure training effectiveness and continuously improve programs based on feedback and results.
Store Management & Retail Excellence Programs
- Design and execute store management initiatives that improve product presentation, merchandising standards, and customer experience.
- Partner with retail accounts to implement merchandising programs and in-store execution standards.
- Monitor retail compliance and identify opportunities to improve store performance.
- Support new product launches and seasonal retail initiatives through effective store-level execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, product development, supply chain, ecommerce,
and customer service teams to support business objectives and drive cross-functional execution.
- Communicate customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market opportunities across the organization.
- Participate in strategic planning and annual business reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Five (5)+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably within consumer goods or retail industries.
- Experience managing national retail accounts and specialty retail partners.
- Experience with retailers such as Canadian Tire, Amazon, Indigo, Walmart, Costco or equivalent preferred.
- Proven ability to deliver revenue growth while achieving margin and profitability targets.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and promotional investments.
- Experience developing and delivering training programs.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong executive presentation, negotiation, and business planning skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Ability to travel as required.

Ontario Employment Standards Act
The salary range for this role is between $110,00 - $150,000. The target compensation range and subsequent actual salary is determined by a number of factors including but not limited to specific skills, competencies, years of experience, and education as aligned to the .
