Wafr Technologies

Vancouver

Company Description: Wafr Technologies Ltd. builds sustainable infrastructure engineered for the AI era, with less power, less water, and within less time. Contemporary infrastructure is running into two physical constraints: speed and resource use. Wafr supplies the electrical, mechanical and thermal systems that address both, from transformers and switchgear to cooling and thermal storage, with shorter lead times and lower resource demand.

Power delivery, heat rejection and thermal storage are coordinated as a single deployment. Wafr's transformer and switchgear line serves utility, industrial and data centre infrastructure, with capacities from 25 to 8,500 kVA up to 40.5 kV classes in pad, pole, dry, oil and wound core formats.

Joining

Wafr offers the opportunity to sell into one of the fastest-moving segments of the North American power equipment market at a company building its commercial function from the ground up.

Role Description: The Sales Manager, Transformers is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. Wafr has the product, the manufacturing capacity and the lead times to compete. What it needs is someone who already knows the buyers.

This is a hands-on selling role: opening an established network of distributors, manufacturer's reps, EPCs, consulting engineers, utilities and end users, converting those relationships into pipeline, and personally carrying deals from qualification to close. You will build and manage the distributor and rep channel, work with engineering to turn customer specifications and tender documents into competitive proposals, and bring market intelligence on pricing, lead times and competitor positioning back into the business.

This is the first dedicated sales hire for the transformer line. The person in it defines how the product goes to market,

including channel structure and pricing approach.

Qualifications:

- 10+ years selling transformers or medium-voltage electrical equipment, with a record of closing capital equipment sales against a quota (required; adjacent switchgear or substation equipment counts if the relationships transfer)
- An established, active network on both sides of the market: distributors and manufacturer's reps, as well as EPCs, consulting engineers, utilities and industrial end users (required)
- Technical fluency with transformer specifications, kVA and kV ratings, applicable standards, and the tender and RFQ process, enough to read a single-line diagram and qualify an opportunity without engineering support
- Comfortable running long capital equipment sales cycles and holding margin under pricing pressure
- Startup experience: comfortable operating independently with ambiguity, no inherited territory and no established playbook, and surfacing risk early rather than at quarter end
- Ability to work on-site in Vancouver, BC, and travel as required for customer visits and industry events
- Nice to have: electrical engineering or technologist background; experience setting up or managing distributor and rep agreements and pricing structures; existing relationships with utility or EPC procurement teams; experience selling switchgear, modular substations or packaged electrical systems; experience introducing a current manufacturer or product line into an established market; early-stage or first commercial hire experience

What We Offer

- Ownership of a product line as the first dedicated sales hire
- Breadth of product across transformers, switchgear, cooling and thermal storage
- Opportunity to grow with the company as it scales
- Base Salary $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year, plus commission
- Stock Options
- Comprehensive Benefits Plan
