Science Demonstrator

After-School Science Kids Program $18.45/hr

Do you enjoy inspiring young minds and watching children light up as they learn? Are you passionate about learning and education? Looking for a fun and rewarding way to spend a few hours in the late afternoons?

The Science North After-School Kids program is a Ministry of Education-licensed after-school program that explores the world of science through hands-on activities tailored to students' interests. Students explore the world around them through activities focused on coding, chemistry, engineering, biology, and so much more!

As a Science Demonstrator in ASK you will educate, entertain, support and coach participants while they:

- Engage in hands-on science activities (both outside and in the science centre)
- Enjoy healthy snacks
- Complete homework

To be the successful candidate you will enjoy working with children, have a keen interest in science and learning and offer outstanding communication abilities. Science North is licensed under the Childcare and Early Years Act, as a result, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age, submit a recent (less than 3 months old at date of submission) Vulnerable Sector police check, a valid certificate in standard first aid including infant and child CPR level C and proof of up-to-date childhood immunizations (in accordance with organizational and public health requirements).

Highlights:

- Part-time contract position to June 30, 2027 involving 6 to 15 hours per week (3:00pm-6:00pm, weekdays only)
