Reporting to the Site Security Manager and the Assistant Manager, the Shift Supervisor is responsible to provide direction and oversight to group of Security Officers within a 24/7 operation and oversee their activities to ensure protection of the Company’s assets, properties and resources.
Responsibilities The candidate’s key responsibilities would include:
- Supervising security team at the Halifax Shipyard
- Performing daily post inspections
- Performance management for direct reports
- Training compliance for recent hires
- Ensuring all occurrence reports are written and submitted in a timely manner
- Coordinating daily patrols of internal sites and parking areas.
- Issuing summary offense tickets for parking violations
- Medical First Response to various incidents
- Supervision and coordination of Security Incidents
- Conducting daily shift briefing with security team
- Maintaining a log of all daily occurrences and reports
- Performing walk-throughs of HMCS Vessels every shift
- Conducting and coordinating training as required
- Assuming overall command of team during a critical incident or major security event in absence of the Site Security Manager or Assistant Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Security, Law enforcement, military or Emergency Response
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervising or management
- Ability to support and motivate in a 24/7/365 operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with training implementation and delivery would be an asset
- A clean driving record and a valid Driver’s License
