About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing wholesale and e-commerce business. This role is an in office 5 days a week role responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, working on month-end close process, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting experience in a wholesale, distribution, retail, and/or e-commerce environment, understands high-volume transaction flows, and has prior audit experience or experience working closely with external auditors. This position is hands-on and well suited to someone who can take ownership of the accounting function while also supporting and assisting junior accounting staff.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a small,



entrepreneurial business environment where formal corporate structures and processes are limited. This role offers the opportunity to wear many hats, take on a variety of responsibilities, and contribute across different areas of the business. Key Responsibilities

· Contribute to day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, receiving payments, and general ledger transactions.

· Assist with inventory accounting, adjustments, receiving, returns.

· Work on the monthly financial close process and ensure deadlines are consistently met.

· Prepare month-end account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, inventory adjustments, and other closing entries.

· Investigate unusual or unexpected fluctuations in account balances and financial results.

· Assist with year-end closing and preparation of financial information for external accountants and auditors.

· Maintain accurate financial records and ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed.

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.

Qualifications





· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience at a senior or supervisory level.

· College diploma in business, accounting or other related field.

· Strong experience with month-end and year-end financial close.

· Strong knowledge of account reconciliations and general ledger accounting.

· Previous audit experience, either in public accounting or working directly with external auditors.

· Experience in e-commerce, wholesale, distribution, retail, or a similar high-volume workplace is preferred.

· Experience with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold.

· Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.

· Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and data analysis.

· Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or ERP/inventory management systems is an asset.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and take ownership of responsibilities.

Nice to have

· Experience with Amazon Vendor Central, Wayfair, or other major e-commerce/retail marketplaces.

· Experience working with large volumes of sales, purchase orders, inventory transactions, returns, and customer deductions.

· Experience implementing or improving accounting processes and internal controls.

· Experience with accounting system integrations and automation.

Compensation

· Salary range $65,000 - $90,000.

· Employer paid benefits.
