We are seeking an experienced senior accountant with a strong focus on automation and digital tools to join our North America Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, combined with a passion for leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency. This individual supports the team financial reporting and accounting close topics.

Digital Improvement: Lead strategic, cross-functional initiatives by identifying digitalization opportunities/ tools, implementing technology-enabled process enhancements, and driving process standardization and harmonization across accounting operations, including newly acquired businesses.

External Audit Liaison: Collaborate as a key partner with external auditors, preparing SAP‑based reporting packages and supporting documentation to ensure smooth and efficient quarterly and annual audit cycles.

Planning and Valuation: Support planning, valuation, and investment‑related reporting, including long‑range plan consolidation and analytics‑driven work supporting CGU and goodwill assessments.

Financial Controls: Enhance governance and financial controls by improving account reconciliations, supporting journal entry preparation, and contributing to compliance with central accounting requirements (AP, ICC, and other global topics). A university degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field; CPA designation strongly preferred. ~5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both reporting and digital/automation initiatives (Big 4 or public accounting experience considered an asset). ~ Strong proficiency in SAP and advanced MS Office, with hands‑on experience using data analytics or visualization tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Snowflake or SQL. ~ Proven ability to take initiative and independently drive complex projects and process improvements, including leveraging automation to enhance financial workflows and challenge existing practices. ~ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and senior stakeholders. ~ Our team is actively supporting the Siemens Energy Business Areas with a wide spectrum of accounting support both with focus on the organization and on digitalization opportunities.
