This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer looking to work with autonomy on some of Canada's most future-forward engineering projects. You'll play a key leadership role in delivering complex municipal, institutional, commercial, and industrial building projects while influencing design excellence, mentoring emerging talent, and helping shape the built environment of tomorrow.
Lead the electrical design and delivery of complex commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects from concept through construction. Drive innovative solutions for medium-voltage power distribution, emergency power, life safety, grounding, lightning protection, UPS, and fire alarm systems. Guide multidisciplinary teams by providing technical leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight throughout project execution.
Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders while representing WSP as a trusted technical advisor. Develop detailed calculations, specifications, tender documents, reports, and engineering designs that achieve successful project outcomes. Manage multiple concurrent projects as both Lead Engineer and Project Manager, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget objectives are achieved.
Support integrated project delivery and design-build initiatives that improve efficiency, collaboration, and project performance. Contribute to safer, more resilient, and sustainable communities through excellence in engineering design and execution. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
~ 15+ years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial and industrial building projects. ~ Deep expertise in electrical power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, lightning protection, emergency power, life safety systems, UPS systems, and arc flash studies. ~ Proven experience leading project teams and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers. ~ Demonstrated ability to coordinate with contractors, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and defend engineering designs during construction. ~ Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Reliability Security Clearance.
