CUSTOMER As a member of the Wealth Management Finance Compensation Team, reporting to the Manager, Wealth Management Finance, this role is responsible for administering and analyzing the monthly variable compensation process for the Private Investment Advice (PIA) business within TD Wealth Management. The role is highly analytical and data-focused, requiring solid technical capability to manage large datasets, work extensively with Microsoft Access, investigate issues, and deliver accurate analysis and ad‑hoc reporting.
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Access queries and data processes used to support compensation analysis, recurring reporting, and operational requirements. Manage, validate, reconcile, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency before processing and reporting. Perform analysis, investigate variances and exceptions, identify root causes, and determine appropriate resolutions.
Deliver recurring and ad‑hoc reports in response to business needs, translating complex data into clear and actionable insights. Apply strong analytical judgment and problem‑solving skills to investigate data reporting and compensation issues. Act as a key contact for escalated inquiries, using data analysis to support accurate and timely resolution.
Partner with business and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify data or reporting needs, and support financial and performance outcomes. Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve data and reporting processes, including existing controls and validation checks. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of compensation outputs through disciplined data validation, reconciliation, exception review, and documented controls.
Identify data or process gaps, investigate root causes, and recommend practical solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and control. Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Apply a strong risk and control mindset when handling data, developing queries, producing reports, and resolving variable pay issues.
EMPLOYEE / TEAM Share technical, data, and business knowledge with team members and support cross‑training key processes. Provide support and guidance to the team on large dataset analysis, Microsoft Access, reporting,
and compensation‑related problem solving. Maintain awareness of business developments, data tools, system changes, and process changes that may affect monthly operations.
Communicate relevant updates, findings, risks, and process changes clearly to stakeholders. BREADTH & DEPTH Independently analyze and resolve complex compensation, reporting, and operational issues where the root cause may not be immediately apparent.
Use Microsoft
Access and Excel to query, transform, reconcile, and analyze large datasets and produce reliable outputs for business use. Translate business questions into analytical approaches, queries, reconciliations, and reports that support decision‑making and issue resolution. Exercise sound judgment when validating results, investigating anomalies, and determining when an issue requires escalation or additional controls.
Contribute to projects and process improvements by providing data analysis, technical input, testing, and implementation support.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Advanced Microsoft Access and MS Excel skills are required, including hands‑on experience building, modifying, and troubleshooting queries and working with relational datasets.
Experience with Power Query, VBA, SQL, or similar data tools is an asset. 4+ years of experience in a hands‑on analytical, data, reporting, finance operations, or compensation‑related role. Demonstrate analytical and problem‑solving ability, including investigating data issues, identifying root causes, working through ambiguity, and developing practical solutions. Strong attention to detail and demonstrate commitment to data accuracy, validation, and controls.
Experience in financial services, advisory environments, or compensation/incentive processes is an asset. Familiarity with ISM/Kyndryl is an asset. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
