Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. We are looking for a Senior Litigation Lawyer – Surety and Trade Credit, who will partner with Claims and Underwriting to manage complex disputes and protect Intact’s recovery position. Join a specialized, inspiring and high-performing legal team within Intact's Legal Affairs Effectively manage a volume of complex surety (bond claims) , trade credit (subrogation) and recovery files,



developing risk-based prioritization strategies

- Represent Intact before all levels of court (Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, administrative tribunals) as well as in mediation and arbitration
- Advise and support underwriting teams in the preliminary legal analysis of complex files (indemnity agreements, performance bonds, payment bonds, guarantees, subordination agreements, etc.)
- Provide rigorous legal opinions to claims teams on liability, subrogation, validity of securities and recovery strategies
- Protect Intact's recovery assets through appropriate remedies
- Prepare and deliver internal training sessions for underwriting and claims teams on specialized topics

- Membership in a bar of one of the Atlantic provinces is an asset; remote work is permitted, and travel will be occasional as needed. Strong skills and expertise in complex civil litigation, particularly in ,



particularly in surety law, trade credit, securities and recovery, construction, as well as in drafting, research and analysis, negotiation, and all stages of litigation, including trial. Strong knowledge of securities law (PPSA), insolvency (CCAA/BIA) and commercial contract law;

Experience with Ontario’s Construction Act (construction liens, construction bonds): highly valued asset

- Willingness to travel across Ontario and across Canada, occasionally as needed
