About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Technician specializing in heavy equipment for their operations in Kimberley . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the extensive fleet of mining machinery. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment, including haul trucks, excavators, loaders, and specialized mining machinery. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on heavy mining equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repair processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures efficiently and effectively.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and rectify mechanical issues.




- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure all work complies with safety standards and company procedures.

Requirements

- Trade Qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Mechanic) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy earthmoving and mining equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines found in large-scale mining machinery.
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools for modern heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a mining environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a solid work ethic.
