The Senior Manager, Lending leads the Prime and Near Prime Lending teams across Canada to deliver an exceptional dealer and customer experience while achieving business growth, risk management, productivity, and operational performance objectives.

This role provides strategic leadership, workforce planning, and operational oversight to ensure consistent, high-quality credit decisions that support profitable portfolio growth while adhering to the Bank’s risk appetite, policies, and regulatory requirements. As the primary escalation point for complex and high-impact credit requests, the incumbent works closely with Sales, Risk, Operations, and other key stakeholders to support customer-focused outcomes, strengthen dealer relationships, and drive sustainable business results.

Lead the execution of Prime and Near Prime Lending business strategies to achieve service, productivity, quality, risk management, and growth objectives. Optimize operational performance through effective management of key performance indicators, including turnaround times, application volumes, customer experience metrics, productivity, and portfolio quality.

- Monitor business trends, volumes, and emerging risks to proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and the customer experience.
- Develop recommendations and implement action plans to address performance gaps, optimize workflows, and support growth objectives.
- Serve as the decision-making authority on escalated complex credit cases,



balancing business opportunities with sound risk management practices.
- Build and sustain a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and team members to strengthen credit expertise, decision quality, leadership capabilities, and career progression.
- Establish clear performance expectations and ensure ongoing performance management, coaching, succession planning, and talent development processes are in place.
- Foster employee engagement by creating an environment where team members feel empowered to contribute, innovate, and perform at their best.
- Act as a champion for change initiatives and support organizational transformation through effective communication and leadership.
- Develop workforce capacity and staffing plans aligned with business volumes, service commitments, and future growth requirements.
- Oversee the effective allocation of resources across Prime and Near Prime operations to maximize productivity and service quality.
- Leverage data, analytics, and performance metrics to forecast demand, identify trends, and support informed decision-making.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining processes, increasing efficiency, reducing operational risk, and improving overall effectiveness.
- Ensure organizational readiness and operational resilience through effective planning, governance, and risk management.
- Promote a customer-centric culture that delivers timely, consistent, and transparent credit decisions.
- Strengthen dealer and partner relationships through proactive communication, effective escalation management, and a commitment to service excellence.




- Identify and remove operational barriers that impact customer and dealer satisfaction.
- Ensure teams effectively balance customer experience, sound credit judgment, and risk management.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the end-to-end customer journey, reduce pain points, and create competitive advantages in the marketplace.
- Ensure all credit decisions, activities, and processes are conducted in accordance with the Bank’s risk appetite, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain rigorous oversight of underwriting quality, exception management, and consistency of credit decisions across Prime and Near Prime portfolios.
- Promote a culture of operational discipline and robust controls by ensuring compliance with operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, conduct risk, and corporate governance requirements.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and sound decision-making throughout the organization.

Skills Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

- Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- Significant experience in credit adjudication, underwriting, or credit risk management.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to identify trends, support workforce planning, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Direct experience in Prime and/or Near Prime lending is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as credit decisioning systems and loan origination software.

In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
