Senior Manager – Public Accounting

Location: Hamilton, ON | Full-Time, Permanent | Vacancy: Existing Position The Finance Group (tFG) is hiring a Senior Manager on behalf of our client, a growing public accounting firm in Hamilton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional who is ready to take on greater client and team leadership while continuing to progress toward Partnership. The role will primarily focus on assurance, review and compilation engagements across a diverse middle-market client base.

What You’ll Do

- Lead and oversee assurance, review and compilation engagements from planning through completion.
- Manage client relationships, deadlines and deliverables while providing a high level of service.
- Review work and provide coaching, mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
- Work closely with Partners on complex accounting matters, client needs and engagement strategy.
- Support workflow planning, team development and overall practice growth.




- Take increasing ownership of client relationships and leadership responsibilities as you progress toward Partnership.

What We’re Looking For

- Approximately 7–10+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
- Current Senior Manager experience preferred; an exceptional Manager ready for the next step may also be considered.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Robust experience in assurance and/or compilation engagements.
- Proven ability to independently manage client files, deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Experience reviewing work and mentoring or developing team members.
- Excellent communication, client service and relationship-building skills.
- Highly accountable, detail-oriented and collaborative.
- Genuine interest in continued career progression and a future path toward Partnership.
