We are seeking a Senior Oracle APEX and Database Administrator to support and enhance enterprise database platforms and Oracle APEX application environments.

This role will be responsible for the design, administration, performance optimization, and lifecycle management of Oracle databases and APEX/ORDS platforms supporting critical business applications. The successful candidate will work closely with DBA, middleware, and application teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems across development, QA, and production environments.

Oracle Database Administration

Manage and maintain Oracle databases (19c and newer) across multiple environments Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations Monitor database performance and tune SQL, memory, and storage Manage database security, roles, and access controls Support PDB/CDB architecture, and database consolidation strategies Oracle APEX / ORDS Administration Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle APEX and ORDS environments Manage APEX schemas, users, and workspace configurations Support APEX application deployments and lifecycle management Troubleshoot APEX performance, session management, and runtime issues APIs, EBS, middleware)



Support WebLogic or application server configurations for APEX/ORDS Coordinate database and application upgrades with cross-functional teams Maintain environment consistency and deployment standards Support capacity planning and performance testing initiatives Provide Tier 3 support for database and APEX incidents Database performance degradation ORDS connectivity and configuration issues Automation & Process Improvement Develop automation scripts for deployments, monitoring, and maintenance Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for database and APEX deployments Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL is nice to have Develop automation scripts for deployments, monitoring, and maintenance Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for database and APEX deployments 5–10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience ~ Strong experience with Oracle APEX and ORDS administration ~ Deep knowledge of:

- Oracle 19c+ database architecture ~ PL/SQL, performance tuning, and troubleshooting ~ Experience with:
- Linux/Unix environments ~ Database upgrades and migrations ~ Oracle Data Guard WebLogic or similar middleware platforms Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools and automation frameworks Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior DBAs At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
