Sr Product Owner – Profile Management Core Banking and Data

Common Product Owner Skills & Experience The consultant will be expected to:
- Act as a dedicated Proxy Product Owner for one or more assigned workstreams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders (CUs), SMEs, architecture teams, vendors, and delivery teams across multiple geographies.
- Lead requirement discovery, backlog management, and prioritization
- Provide ongoing functional leadership, decision support, and clarification to delivery teams to ensure timely execution and issue resolution.
Expertise Required from Consultant The consultant should demonstrate:
- Strong Product Ownership and Business Analysis experience within Banking, specifically Canadian Credit Union (CU) ecosystem
- Deep understanding of Core Banking concepts, customer/member lifecycle management, deposits, lending, payments, reporting, or profile management domains.
- Experience working with regulatory, compliance, risk, and operational stakeholders and translating regulatory requirements into business capabilities.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, data lineage, integrations, ETL processes, and reporting.
- Proven experience working in Agile delivery environments, including backlog management, user story definition, UAT support, and release planning.
Expectations from the Consultant
- Act as the primary Proxy Product Owner for the assigned functional workstream and serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into explicit user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, drive functional decisions, and proactively manage dependencies, risks, and issues.
- Provide functional guidance and timely clarifications to support solution design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
- Support UAT,
business sign-offs, and readiness activities to ensure successful adoption of delivered capabilities.
Success Matrix
- Business requirements, process flows, and acceptance criteria are documented, reviewed, and approved by stakeholders.
- Product backlog is prioritized, refined, and maintained to support planned delivery milestones.
- Functional decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and risks are identified, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Delivery teams receive timely requirement clarifications, minimizing development and testing delays.
- UAT is successfully completed, with defects addressed and business sign-off obtained.
- Delivered functionality meets agreed business, operational, and regulatory requirements and is accepted by the program team.
Common Skillset:
Exposure to Credit Union ecosystems is the most important. The person should be well versed with Credit Union operations.
- Product Vision & Strategy
- A clearly defined and communicated product vision and long-term roadmap is required.
- Product objectives should be consistently aligned with business goals and customer needs.
- Product direction should be effectively communicated to all stakeholders to ensure alignment and reduce misunderstandings.

- Backlog items should be regularly refined, prioritized, and reviewed.
- Prioritization should consider business value, risk, dependencies, and regulatory requirements.
3. Requirements Management
- Requirements gathering should involve customers, business users, and relevant stakeholders.
- Requirement should contain well-defined acceptance criteria before development begins.
- Regulatory and business requirements should be documented and validated.
- Regulatory changes should be tracked and delivered within agreed timelines.
- Regular backlog refinement sessions should be conducted.
4. Stakeholder Management
- Stakeholder expectations should be managed through regular communication and alignment sessions.
- Conflicting priorities should be addressed through structured discussions and decision-making.
- Product progress, risks, and mitigation plan should be monitored proactively.
5. Pre-deployment signoff
- Requirement reviews should include business feedback and validation of delivered functionality.
7. Customer & User Focus
- Customer feedback should be periodically collected and assessed.
- Continuous improvement opportunities should be identified and prioritized.

- Product-related prioritization decisions should be made in a timely manner.

Functional-Specific Skills & Experience
Domain-specific responsibilities and expertise required for Profile Management – Core Banking & Data
Profile Management
- Strong experience with Core Banking Systems (Mambu): Expertise in managing Member, Customer, Group, Organization, and Related Party profiles.
- Knowledge of KYC, AML, FATCA/CRS, Beneficial Ownership, and Privacy regulations.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with business users, compliance teams, auditors, and regulators.
- Experience defining and governing customer/profile data models and relationship structures.
- Ability to analyze profile data requirements and translate them into product backlog items and user stories.
- Understanding of profile-related integrations across Core Banking, CRM, Digital Banking, AML, and Reporting systems.
- Experience managing data validation, reconciliation, duplicate management, and profile merge/split scenarios.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
