Our client, an established organization within the insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Senior QA Analyst to join its Edmonton-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality assurance professional who enjoys balancing hands-on testing with team coordination and leadership . In this role, you will help strengthen QA practices, coordinate testing activities across the team, and remain actively involved in executing test cases and ensuring high-quality technology solutions.
You'll work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and other partners throughout the development lifecycle to identify risks, manage defects, and ensure testing activities are completed thoroughly and on time. Execute manual and automated test cases, documenting results and supporting evidence. Manage test data and validate testing environments to ensure readiness.
Develop and review test plans, test scenarios, and test cases to ensure appropriate coverage. Coordinate QA team activities and assign work according to priorities, capacity, and urgency. Monitor daily testing progress and help ensure activities are completed on schedule.
Serve as a primary QA contact for defect management, including coordinating defect triage, tracking, and resolution across teams. Support the ongoing improvement of QA processes, standards, and testing practices. Identify testing risks and elevate potential issues early.
Analyze testing results and metrics and prepare test and status reports. Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to support robust quality outcomes. Lead testing activities while continuing to actively execute assigned test cases. 5+ years of quality assurance or software testing experience. ~ Experience with test management tools such as Jira, Team Foundation Server, or similar platforms. ~ Experience with automated testing tools.
~ Post-secondary education in a related field. ~ Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) . ~ Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) . ~ Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. ~ The ability to balance hands-on testing responsibilities with coordination of team activities.
