Airswift is currently seeking a Senior Subcontracts Specialist to join our client's team on a permanent basis in either Edmonton or Calgary. This is a strategic role for a commercially minded professional who enjoys leading complex subcontracting packages, developing sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements, and partnering with project teams to drive successful project outcomes.
The Senior Subcontracts
Specialist will lead the subcontracting process for major industrial construction projects, helping ensure commercial success from planning through execution. Our client is a major EPC multinational operating in various Energy, Process and Infrastructure-type projects and they are currently looking to add to their Field Construction Business Unit.
Responsibilities
- Develop subcontracting and sourcing strategies with project teams
- Lead RFQ/RFP processes, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards
- Build strong scopes of work and commercial agreements with internal stakeholders
- Identify, evaluate, and engage qualified subcontractors
- Manage subcontract performance, changes, invoicing, claims, and closeout activities
- Provide contract and commercial guidance to project teams
- Build robust relationships with subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Mentor team members and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 10+ years of subcontract, procurement, or contract management experience
- Experience supporting major industrial construction or capital projects
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and commercial skills
- The ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Considered an asset: SCMP designation
- Relevant post-secondary education
- Expected to gain: Exposure to major industrial construction, energy, and infrastructure projects
