The Protective Services Officer is responsible for delivering front line protective security services within the CSIS property to protect employees, assets and visiting public. Monitor the environment, both within the building and/or outside perimeter, to identify potential risks and/or hazards presenting concerns of health and safety or requiring repairs. Act as first responder for emergency/safety situations within CSIS facilities and maintain, in collaboration with other security services, an acceptable level of order, control and safety until local authorities arrive on scene.
While posted at the Main Security Control Centre, facilitate the response to emergencies and/or situations of concerns to safety. Monitor and issue building access passes in accordance with established policy and procedures. Prepare detailed, accurate and factual shift and incident daily reports.
High school diploma and four (4) years of experience*. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service. Experience* in a protective service and security related function.
This refers to a role in the protection of assets, operations and employees from various security threats.
Client Service Assets
Experience managing various components of a security guard post, including access management and camera controls. Professional certification in the field of security. Knowledge of building and construction methods and codes.
First
Aid / CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation / AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training.
Experience in maintaining high alertness and situational awareness during 12-hour shifts, including overtime if needed.
