The Salvation

The role operationally supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily routine tasks to provide uninterrupted service in various aspects of the Thrift Store activities. Otherwise, this role acts as a Sales Associate.

Interact with customers/donors in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner. Responsible for accurate completion of all customer transactions including cash and debit sales. Contribute to meeting store budgets by maintaining customer service standards.

Process raw materials by loading/unloading, sorting, packing, pricing and storing donations. Possess knowledge of stock in order to respond to customer enquiries by phone/in person. assist in stock rotation. Assist with store layout plans to attract customers,



which include window displays and merchandise displays; Remove inventory from sales floor as directed.

Maintain the proper sorting and processing of all donated goods, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Abide by store policy and procedures. Assist with inventory reconciliation (cycle counting).

Provide excellent service to guests and donors. Act as a Team Lead/Working Supervisor for Store Associates only in the absence of the Store Manager. May be required to show some operations and provide on-the-job-training to staff.

Critical Relationship Management Internal: NRO Administration, TS management and staff.

External: Donors, clients, contractors. Managerial/Technical Responsibilities Reports directly to the Store Manager.

Financial And Material Management

Moderate material responsibility. This is a full time position. Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
