: Under the direction of the Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
- Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Knowledge in various mental health disorders and stability interventions
- Knowledge and skill in community outreach and crisis interventions
- Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure
- Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
- Identify, implement and evaluate client difficulty areas
- Knowledge in recovery philosophy
- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
