Reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, the Software Engineer will be a key contributor to the Fraud & Risk team, responsible for building and evolving products that generate fraud signals and process identity data at scale within our big data infrastructure.

This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance systems, improving platform reliability and scalability,



and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions.

The Software

Engineer will also collaborate with peers and contribute to the overall engineering standards and capabilities of the team. This role is expected to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, enhance decision-making, and continuously optimize how work is performed. This will be a full-time, permanent position working out of the Vancouver office on a hybrid model (3-days per week in the office).

Design and development of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions as part of a high-performing engineering team. Partner closely with Product, DevOps, QA, and other engineers to break down complex business requirements into well-defined, achievable technical tasks. Support the design of robust, reusable architectures and guide implementation from concept through deployment.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility, sound architecture, and efficient delivery of features. Identify and proactively address technical debt, scalability challenges, and performance bottlenecks.

Participate in and influence long‑term technical strategy and system design decisions. Drive a culture of quality by championing testing, automation, and continuous integration. Utilize AI-assisted tooling to efficiently draft, refactor, and review code, ensuring all generated output is rigorously validated against project requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. ~5+ years of software engineering experience developing enterprise-grade applications. ~ Deep experience in C#, .NET Framework, or Java/Spring Boot, with solid understanding of scalable architecture and modern software design. ~ Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL), NoSQL databases, and robust schema design. ~ Proven experience building applications with microservice or distributed systems and architectures. ~ Proven experience building front-end platforms with frameworks like React, Bootstrap,



Material UI, and CSS with solid understanding of microfrontend architecture and modular UI/UX design. ~ Proficiency with Git or similar version control systems. ~ Experience with agile methodologies in a fast‑paced environment. ~ Solid background in unit testing and test automation, including automated testing of web services. ~ Solid knowledge of network protocol, threats, security standards and best practices. ~ Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, balancing technical excellence with pragmatic delivery. ~ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. ~ Ability to follow and contribute to team standards for integrating AI contributions into the codebase Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS services, Athena, and Lambda.

Experience with OpenSearch (or Elasticsearch), specifically in designing index mappings, optimizing query methodologies, and maintaining performance at scale with large datasets. Solid knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols like OAuth2.
