Services (AHS) needs someone like you to join our energetic team at the Peter Lougheed Centre, a centre of excellence for hematology, respiratory, vascular surgery, and addictions and mental health located in Northwest Calgary. As a Diagnostic Sonographer on our team, you will support a safe and efficient patient-and family-centered care experience. As part of an interdisciplinary Diagnostic Imaging Services team, this position takes a variety of ultrasound images on various organs, monitoring health conditions, and providing Maternal Fetal Medicine scans.

The Diagnostic

Sonographer in this role provides imaging guidance for women's health procedures in the Operating Room and supports Interventional Radiologists while performing Ultrasound-guided procedures. 1.5 million,) ranks among the world’s cleanest and most livable cities, and is located just 1.5 hours’ drive from Banff National Park. As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.

Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare

Provider (BCLS-HCP). Graduate of an approved training program in Ultrasonography. Ability to provide imaging guidance for women's health procedures in the Operating Room. Ability to support Interventional Radiologists while performing Ultrasound-guided procedures. Ability to work independently and efficiently supporting a very busy Emergency Department on Weekends and Evenings.

Maternal Fetal

Medicine experience. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations required.
