Position Overview
Sagard is seeking a motivated Talent Acquisition & Operations Specialist to join our People & Culture team in a permanent, full-time role. This role offers the prospect to make a meaningful contribution to how Sagard attracts, hires, and supports its people, while helping shape the candidate and employee experience as the firm continues to grow.
The Specialist will partner closely with business leaders and hiring managers to support hiring strategies and priorities, while owning the day-to-day execution of recruitment, onboarding, and key employee lifecycle processes. They will also lead high-visibility talent programs and continuously improve the processes and tools that support our people. This is an opportunity to have a visible impact across the firm, build strong relationships with leaders and teams, and help create scalable people practices that support Sagard’s continued growth.
Technology will be central to how this role operates. The Specialist will be expected to leverage Workday to manage recruitment and talent processes, maintain accurate data, and support reporting and informed decision-making. They will also thoughtfully leverage AI to improve efficiency, strengthen insights, and enhance the quality of their work, while applying sound judgment and maintaining appropriate confidentiality and human oversight.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic recruitment partner to business leaders and hiring managers, advising on hiring priorities, role profiles, sourcing strategies, and candidate requirements while driving execution across active searches.
- Lead Sagard’s new hire onboarding experience, ensuring new hires, stakeholders, systems, communications, and activities are aligned and delivered consistently.
- Own the planning and execution of Sagard’s annual New Hire Onboarding program, including participant management, invitations, travel and logistics, presenter coordination,
communications, materials, and post-event follow-up.
- Lead key employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, internal moves, and related operational activities, ensuring a consistent and effective employee experience.
- Build and maintain relationships across key talent channels, including campus programs, search firms, staffing partners, and talent networks, to strengthen Sagard’s talent pipelines and support internship and early-career hiring.
- Use Workday as the primary system for managing recruitment activities, maintaining accurate candidate and hiring data, tracking progress, and producing timely reporting.
- Leverage AI to support candidate sourcing and market research, refine job descriptions, develop interview guides, strengthen candidate communications, and generate recruitment insights. Use these tools thoughtfully to improve the speed, quality, and consistency of recruitment.
- Continuously evaluate and improve recruitment, onboarding, and talent processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, scalability, and the candidate and employee experience.
- Use recruiting data and market insights to identify trends, inform hiring decisions, and strengthen recruitment strategies and planning.
- Partner cross-functionally with all departments in different parts of the world to deliver employer branding, onboarding, and broader talent initiatives across the Sagard ecosystem.

- Candidate and Employee Experience: Builds strong relationships and keeps candidates, new hires, and managers informed throughout the process.

- Attention to Detail and Judgment: Detail-oriented and able to resolve issues independently while knowing when to elevate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, people operations, or a related HR role in a fast-growing environment.
- Recruitment and People Operations Expertise: Experience managing the full recruitment cycle and employee lifecycle processes, with strong knowledge of the Canadian job market; financial or professional services experience is an asset.
- Technical Skills:
Proficiency with LinkedIn, HRIS, and Workday platforms; proficiency in Workday HCM and Recruitment modules and demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively and responsibly to strengthen recruitment, improve efficiency, and deliver high-quality work are strong assets.
- Personal Attributes: Collaborative, proactive, and highly organized, with the ability to build strong processes, deliver a high-quality employee experience, and work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
- For all positions in Québec, proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. English is required due to regular interaction with colleagues and external partners outside Québec.
