Together, we are enhancing the quality of life globally through design. Join us and design your place with Stantec. An opportunity exists in Stantec's Toronto, ON office for a highly motivated Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team.

In this role you will be responsible for the design of structural elements and systems in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. You will be required to work with limited supervision and direction on small to medium sized projects and as a team member of larger projects, under the general supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer. You will participate in the analysis and design of structural components and systems for a variety of projects in compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/ practices.

Work on multiple projects of small to large scale using various materials. Interact with a wide variety of clients from owners, developers, consultants, and contractors. Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, and engineering drawings for concrete, steel, masonry and wood building structures.

Work to and meet project time lines and budgets. Coordinate design work with other disciplines, other offices, and other project team members. Preparation and review of technical reports. Participate in Stantec’s quality assurance and quality control process.

Construction administration including site reviews. Mentoring, coaching and training of less experienced professionals as required. General knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codes (ex.





General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. General knowledge of structural systems, means & methods of construction, and materials. Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

General understanding of structural engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others. Understanding of Component Design Software and Building Analysis Software. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Structural/ Civil Engineering from an accredited university required.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Join us and redefine your personal best.

At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
