As the main point of contact for clients, you’ll oversee day-to-day linguistic service delivery, define project requirements and acceptance criteria, prepare files for translation, coordinate resources and use data and technology to improve workflows and client outcomes. Using your strong organization and decision-making skills, you’ll manage multiple complex requests, competing deadlines and changing priorities – and you’ll identify risks early, clarify requirements and resolve linguistic, technical and workflow issues.
We’re looking for an experienced translation-services professional who understands the complete translation lifecycle and can move confidently between client consultation, project management, file preparation, technology and quality assurance. Someone who builds relationships, establishes trust, manages expectations and works effectively with clients, language professionals, vendors and technical partners. If you’re a confident negotiator and mediator who can balance service quality, scope, timelines, capacity and business priorities, this could be the role for you.
Manage translation, revision, proofreading, terminology and related linguistic projects from intake and scoping through assignment, production, quality assurance,
delivery and client acceptance Review requests to confirm business needs, audience, scope, timelines, source content, reference material, technical requirements and translation readiness Define clear acceptance criteria before work begins, including requirements for linguistic quality, terminology, completeness, formatting, functionality, accessibility and client approval Assess, prepare and troubleshoot source files for translation, including content extraction, file conversion, formatting, version control and validation of modifiable content Analyze requests using computer-assisted translation tools and assign work to internal or external language professionals based on subject matter, complexity, capacity and delivery requirements Develop project plans, schedules and workflows; identify risks; Coordinate translation, revision, proofreading, formatting and technical quality-control activities to ensure deliverables meet agreed requirements Monitor service quality, resolve issues and manage changes to scope, files, timelines and deliverables Maintain accurate project information and use operational data to monitor workload, service standards, quality, turnaround times and vendor performance Use translation management systems, computer-assisted translation tools, translation memories, termbases, workflow automation and approved AI or machine translation tools responsibly Lead process-improvement activities and recommend practical solutions to workflow, technology, capacity and service-delivery gaps Supervise, coach and develop employees while supporting workforce planning, performance management and team effectiveness Coach clients on translation readiness, realistic timelines,
clear instructions and effective review and approval practices Manage relationships with external language-service providers and monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and service expectations are met Support and mentor team members and help maintain a collaborative, respectful and high-performing work environment A bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, language studies, business administration, commerce, communications or a related discipline Demonstrated experience managing translation services from intake to delivery, including scoping, scheduling, resource assignment, file preparation, quality assurance and client acceptance Experience establishing project requirements and measurable acceptance criteria for linguistic and technical deliverables Experience assessing, preparing and troubleshooting common business, publishing and digital file formats for translation Working knowledge of translation management systems, computer-assisted translation tools, translation memories, termbases and automated quality-assurance functions Knowledge of translation, revision, proofreading and localization practices, including terminology and quality-management principles Knowledge of project management and process-improvement principles Fluently bilingual, with excellent oral, reading and writing skills in both French and English Knowledge of the Official Languages Act and experience delivering services in an official-languages environment Translation project management, localization project management or PMP certification Experience refining processes using approved machine translation, artificial intelligence or workflow-automation tools in a professional translation setting At FCC, we’re committed to creating an inclusive, equitable and accessible workplace – one that reflects the communities where we live, work and play.
